We’ve now been running this blog for a year and we’d both like to say thank you to all of our lovely followers. You guys are the best and we don’t know what we’d do without you! Keep being awesome and keep loving horses :)

Our head wrangler suggested this one. Except instead of “drop reins”, it’s more like “drop bridles” becuase all our horses just start acting up and walking away once they realize that no one is controlling them. Oh the joys of leading beginner trail rides…
This is a picture from this summer. I’m the one on the right in the purple and our assistant wrangler is on the left making the super attractive face. We had gone swimming with our wranglers-in-training and as you can see, I’m on a really short horse (that’s Navajo) and the water that we had just left, as well as the water we were heading into was really deep, so her head was just barley above the water. Needless to say, we were both rather soaked by the time we were done. And the water was super cold, so there were many moments where I thought to myself “Now this was a poor life decision”, but it was still fun, and I can’t wait to do it again next year! :)
I would love to have an indoor arena. At our barn we don’t have one so we ride out in the snow and the rain and sun all year long. But there are sometimes (okay a lot times) where it’d be really nice to have an indoor arena, such as when it’s raining cats and dogs, or when there’s snow everywhere and it’s -25 degrees Celsuis outside. Really, just having a roof and maybe one wall to block the wind, but we don’t even need the wall; just having a roof would be nice.
Okay, I don’t know who this person is or who this photo belongs to, but can we just take a moment to appreciate how high she’s jumping…bareback…without reins?! This is so amazing, and I support and am in awe of everyone who can jump bareback, whether it’s this high or just barley off the ground. It’s just so amazing!
~KatieP.S. So I’ve been informed by a number of you lovely people (thanks by the way) that she’s Alycia Burton riding Classic Goldrush. http://freeridingnz.com/international/ She has so many amazing videos, go check her out!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!
